This summer, join us for Roman Week between 29th July – 4th Aug:
CRAFT ACTIVITY: Monday 29th July, 10.30am-12.30pm.
Make a Roman shield for £2 per person with an annual pass (payable on the day).
STORYTELLING: Tuesday 30th July, 11am & 2pm
A Roman story about The Sun God Helios, read in the Roman fort. FREE with an annual pass.
MUSEUM WEDNESDAY: Wednesday 31st July, 10am-3pm.
With a ‘Bugs and wildlife’ theme, you will be able to:
- Are they friends or foes to farmers?
- Go on a bug hunt around site
- Make a wildflower seed bomb
LIVING HISTORY DAY: Thursday 1st August, 10am-3pm
in the Roman Fort. Day includes a Roman on horseback, weapon demonstration, archaeology, stratigraphy and object handling. Optional mosaic coaster making at £4 per person (payable on the day).
TRAINS: Sunday 4th August
The Derwent Valley Light Railway will be running passenger trains. FREE with an annual pass.
EVENT: Sunday 4th August.
The MG Car Club Yorkshire Centre Compass Run will be held at Murton Park on Sunday 4th August. FREE with an annual pass.
