Come and learn about the first English settlement in America at Murton Park with Lord Scrope’s Household. FREE with an annual pass.
The story about Hereward the Wake, read in the Long House. FREE with an annual pass.
Take part in a Medieval Living History in the Viking Village. Day includes trebuchet set up and firing, a cooking demonstration and weapons handling plus embroidery and medicine. Free with an annual pass.
Optional shield making at £2 per person with an annual pass (payable on the day).
With a ‘Planting’ theme, you will get to:
- Find out how heavy a plough is
- Get stuck into soil – find out why farmers need to know what soil type they have
- Plant your favourite vegetable

Decorate medieval body armour to take home. £3 per person with an annual pass (first come, first served payable on the day).
The Derwent Valley Light Railway will be running passenger trains. FREE with an annual pass.
The Trailblazers will be in town so mosey on down to the fort to meet the cowboys and Jorfor’s Hall Reenactment Group will be in the Viking village with all things Viking. FREE with an annual pass.
