THE PARK COVERS APPROXIMATELY 14 ACRES OF MOSTLY FLAT TERRAIN, CONNECTED BY A SERIES OF PATHS AND TRACKWAYS OF VARYING SURFACES
The reception building houses our admissions desk and shop, toilets, The Yorkshire Barn Café (open Monday – Sunday) function rooms and library. Access to the library (open by appointment) is via stairs only. The bulk of the museum collection is housed in three main gallery buildings. The Four Seasons building has stair and wheelchair lift access to the upper mezzanine housing the WLA exhibition and photographic gallery. The Livestock Gallery has ramp access and is on a single level and The John Sawkill Building is on a single level.
There is a large picnic area and a number of picnic tables outside. The playground is located opposite the picnic spot and there are toy pedal tractors for children (under 8s). In bad weather, those bringing a picnic can eat indoors in the atrium space.
Toilets are located in the reception building and a toilet block is also open towards the back of the site. Both of these facilities have a disabled cubicle. Baby changing facilities are available in the reception building. Hand washing facilities are available at various points around the site.
Your visitor information sheet (given to you on arrival) features a map of the site and the facilities are indicated on this.
